đź‘‹ Hi, there!
We're excited you want to host an event on River.
This guide offers tips and resources to help you throw an awesome event, whether it's your first or you're a seasoned events pro.
📜 Here are some tips before planning your event:
- Events on River are usually fan meetups, the influencer or brand will most likely won’t be joining your in-person event.
- Hosting doesn’t have to be hard, just pick your favorite local bar, cafe, or hotel bar and have everyone meet there.
- Create a Popl profile to make sharing contact info with new friends fast & easy
- Buy name tags & markers — prompt people to write something to get convos flowing:
- Best book // Hottest take
- Topic you most want to discuss
- Have name tags and a marker and make sure everybody gets to write their name and put their name in a visible place.
- Not required, but you could offer to buy beers for the first arrivals to encourage folks to get there on time.
- Usually, a good time frame for hosting an event is two hours.
